It looks as if the Cavs have recovered to right the ship. Back at home for a 4-game home stand, the Cleveland Cavaliers returned from a disappointing road trip that saw them lose five straight games after opening the season 8-1. They have now won 4 straight at home, including tonight’s 114 to 96 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Led by Jarrett Allen’s 24 points and 13 rebounds, the Cavs controlled the game from start to finish.

Both teams shot well during the first half, but the Cavs continued to play excellent defense, often by closing off the paint, closing out on 3-point shooters, and playing team ball on offense. They got 24 pts and 12 ast from Darius Garland, 34 pts from Donovan Mitchell, and 12 pts from Lamar Stevens who has started the past 3 games. The Blazers were led by Jusef Nurkic with 22 pts 6 rebs, Anfernee Simons with 20 pts, 6 ast, and Jeremi Grant‘s with 21 pts 3 rebs, and 3 ast. The Cavs won the game by winning the battle on the boards and outshooting the Blazers from both the field and the 3 pts line. The Cavs move on to face the Bucks on Friday night in Milwaukee.
