Star of the Game

The Timberwolves’ comeback against the Hornets forced the game into overtime and eventually sealed a win. After a quiet game against Indiana, Karl-Anthony Towns came back ready to put his signature on this game. With 39 points and 15 rebounds, the All-star center was the key to Minnesota’s success. The honorable mention goes to D’Angelo Russell, who had 18 points and 11 assists. It’s good to see the Minnesota offense clicking so efficiently.

Biggest Concern

After back to back games with more than 30 points, Anthony Edwards only scored nine against Charlotte. The young guard’s shooting was ice-cold, going 3/10 from the field and 1/6 from deep. Obviously, Coach Finch didn’t like what he was seeing either, because he benched Edwards after only 17 minutes of play. In a key match-up, this is not what you want to see from your young talent. Hopefully, Edwards can bring some consistency to his game.

Number of the Night

3. Jaden McDaniels was on fire tonight, and helped push the Wolves over the top. With 18 points, four steals and two blocks, the young forward was crucial on both the offensive and defensive ends of the game. After starting the season in a bit of a slump, Coach Finch has coached the young forward out of it to where he is back to being a borderline starting player. While only in his second season, the sky is the limit for where this 21-year-old forward can develop.

Next Game

The Timberwolves will play the Raptors tonight at 7:00 CST.
