Zach Lavine, DeMar DeRozan, and the entire Bulls organization need to be traded or let go immediately! The Chicago Bulls are in a state of being stuck. They’re a team that has reached its peak. Here is why it’s time to blow up the Bulls!
The Players
DeMar DeRozan is still a very good player who could be a major help for a potential title contender. With his deadly mid range assault and veteran presence, he could potentially be the missing link for quite a few teams. In regards to Zach LaVine, he is one of the most skilled athletes in the sport today.
He is the freakish athlete, who has developed his jumpshot. This makes him that much more of an asset, but he isn’t a number one option. That isn’t knocking him or putting him down, he just isn’t that guy. I believe he will be a great third option at best. Another thing is the regime with the Bulls has been a complete and utter failure.
The Front Office
Arturas Karnišovas and Marc Eversley should start looking for new jobs elsewhere. There was a great level of optimism when they were hired, but everybody they’ve drafted have been huge disappointments. The major flaw they made was drafting Patrick Williams, who has been very inconsistent over a guy like Tyrese Haliburton who is on the cusp of potential superstardom. That was a huge miss and the Lonzo Ball situation is truly sad because of injury but it has been a failure.
The Solution
So I believe that the Chicago Bulls need the following:
- A new owner. Someone who actually loves the sport of basketball
- A new President of Basketball Operations
- A new General Manager
- A new Coach. One who knows how to develop players and play to their strengths.
- Some new players!
That last bullet item may mean we have to go to a dark period of being a terrible team, but it’ll be worth it! I say that because with the people in place who know how to scout properly and build a team correctly. The alternative is to keep LaVine who is being paid as a max player and DeRozan who is up for a new contract.
The time is now for a change, no need to wait any longer.
