It was a back and forth game for 3 quarters, with highlight plays by Denver’s young studs and Lou Williams. But Denver decided to rest their starters in the 4th and the Clippers pulled away and clinched the 2nd seed. Side note: MPJ and Bol Bol are going to be PROBLEMS for the rest of the league. Denver may have the brightest future of any team.
Kawhi and Paul George combined for 53 points on 50% shooting and looked to be rounding into playoff form. When they’re locked in on defense, the Clippers are scary.
It was nice to see Lou back to his old ways; he finished with 23 points and 7 assists on 61% from the field.
The good news is the Clippers expect Montrezl Harrell back later this week. The question is, with so little time to prepare before the playoffs, how much of impact will he have in the first round? I would advise never to bet against Montrezl. His minutes may be limited at first, but, whenever he is on the court he’ll make an impact.
The Clippers face Dallas in an exciting first-round matchup. The Clippers should dispatch Luka and the Mavs in 5, but there will be some close games in there. I’m hyped to watch PG and Kawhi split Luka guarding duties.
