The Chicago Bulls hoped for a different result this time around, but the Nets once again came out on top after the Bulls collapsed and tragically lost their 5-point lead of the first half.
First half was tight, but Bulls ended up by 5 to end the second quarter
The first half was a hard-fought and back and forth one for the Bulls as they were trailing but then ended up leading by five to end the second quarter. They ended the first quarter with trailing by six as the quarter ended 27-21. Center Nikola Vucevic was the best man on the court that quarter for the Bulls with 7 points and 2 rebounds while Point Guard Dennis Schröder was the main man for the Nets with 6 points, 4 rebound, and 1 assist.
The second quarter then seemed to be a moment where Billy Donovan’s team really started being aggressive offensively as they finished the second quarter with a winning result leading 31-2, and at the half they were in front by five, 52-47. For the Bulls, it was Shooting Guard Ayo Dosunmu providing the difference as he put in 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assist but for the Nets it was once again Schröder who finished with 7 points and 1 assist.
Bulls collapse and squander a five-point lead to end up losing the game
The third quarter proved to be an the prelude for the collapse of the Bulls, they found themselves at the end of the third quarter not five-points in the lead but now just a point in the lead, as the quarter ended in the Nets favor 38-34, but the overall score the Bulls led 86-85. DeRozan once again lead the way providing 10 points and 2 rebounds in the quarter, while for the Nets it was Shooting Guard Cam Thomas who put up 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.
The fourth quarter ended 39-23, and the final score was Nets winning it as Bulls collapsed, 125-108 with DeRozan being the only light for the Bulls as he finished the quarter with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. While for the Nets it was Thomas who finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Star of the Game
Shooting Forward DeMar DeRozan was once again the “Star of the Game” as he racked up a staggering 31 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. The USC Trojan product and 2009 NBA Draft, ninth overall pick was the best player on the court by far, but his contributions were in vain as the Bulls fell to the Nets. DeRozan is hoping to once again put on a good performance that will give the desired result for the Bulls and the city of Chicago.
