It proved insufficient as the Chicago Bulls (39-43) lost against the Miami Heat (46-36) 112-91 away from home at Kaseya Stadium to bow out in the decisive game of the NBA-Play-In-East for the 8th Seed of the NBA Playoffs in the Eastern Conference. The Chicago Bulls came into this game after a great win against the Atlanta Hawks where they played great united game finishing with a score of 131-116. While the Heat came into this game in tremendous form undefeated with three wins on the spin, their last win coming against the Philadelphia 76ers with a close win of 106-105.
The last time these teams faced each other was earlier in the season on Saturday, December 16th, where the Bulls were victorious against the Heat 124-116 where Center Nikola Vucevic was the main performer with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Chicago Bulls hoped for a similar result this time around, but the Heat was able to come on top despite the Bulls putting their heart and soul into the match till the final buzzer sound.
First half was tight, but Bulls trailed by 10 to end the second quarter
The first half was a hard-fought one for the Bulls as they were trailing by 10 to end the second quarter. They ended the first quarter with trailing by 14 as the quarter ended 34-17. Vucevic was the best man on the court that quarter for the Bulls with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist while Guard Jaime Jaquez Jr was the main man for the Nets with 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assist2.
The second quarter then seemed to be a moment where Billy Donovan’s team started being aggressive offensively. They finished the second quarter with a winning result leading 20-13, but at the half, they were down by ten, 47-37. For the Bulls, it was DeRozan providing the difference as he put in 12 points but for the Heat it was Forward Duncan Robinson who finished with 6 points and 1 rebound.

The third quarter and overall rest of the game proved to be a last gasp from the Bulls, as they put their heart and soul into the match till the final buzzer, but they found themselves at the end last. The quarter ended in the Heat’s favor 35-23, with the overall score for the Heat at 82-60.
The fourth quarter ended 31-30, and the final score was the Heat winning it as the Bulls last gasp wasn’t enough, 112-91 with DeRozan being the only light for the Bulls as he finished the quarter with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists. While for the Nets it was Point Guard Tyler Herro with 24 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists
Star of the Game
Point Guard Tyler Herro was the “Star of the Game” as he racked up an impressive 24 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists. The Kentucky product and 2019, 1st round, 13th overall pick selected by the Miami Heat was the best player on the court by far, as his contributions helped the Heat secure their spot in the NBA playoffs. DeRozan and Chicago are hoping next season to put on good performances to give the desired result for the Bulls and the city of Chicago.
