Per multiple sources, the Boston Celtics are close to acquiring Kristaps Porzingis.
The deal is a three teamer said to include the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers along with the Celtics. Unfortunately the Celtics would be giving up Malcolm Brogdon who will be sent to the Clippers. The Clippers would send Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, and the 30th pick to Washington.
The Wizards offload their second star in about three days while the Celtics and Clippers inch towards a championship run.
While most Celtics fans wanted Brogdon traded after bad outings in his last games vs the Miami Heat, he was tremendous all year for this team. Coming into last season the team needed more scoring and he provided that. His efforts off the bench offensively were thankfully recognized by the league as he was awarded Sixth Man of The Year. Had he been healthy the last three games the Celtics might’ve completed the 3-0 comeback.
The fit of Porzingis on the Celtics seems like a seamless one to some and problematic to others but here are my pros and cons of a potential Porzingis acquisition.
