The Charlotte Hornets defend their home floor 116-122 against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings did a great job at attacking the rim the first quarter scoring 26 points in the paint . The Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier started off good shooting 3-3 from the 3 point line. Both teams are moving the ball allowing each team to score from open shots. The Kings suffered a loss in losing Marvin Bagley after him scoring 12 the first two quarters. He left in the first half going to the locker room and did not return due to a left hand injury.

Player Of The Game

Gordon Hayward had a huge night against The Sacramento Kings scoring 26-8-4. After being down, Hayward seals his defender and ties the game for the Charlotte Hornets. The following play he gives their team a 2 point lead slamming the ball over De’Aaron Fox. Hayward who averages 21-5-4 took advantage of the small back court scoring at will against his opponents.

Biggest Concern

Throughout the first three quarters the Charlotte Hornets gave up many shots in the paint to the Kings . The Hornets are great offensively but struggle to stay in front letting their opponents score at will. The Hornets began to push after being down by 15 in the third. De’Aaron Fox had 24 points at the end of the third making it difficult for the Hornets to guard him. Getting after the ball more defensively could make the difference in close games as well as extend the leads in their teams overall standing.

Surprise Contributor

Beginning in the first half LaMelo Ball had just 2 points in the first half. During the 4th quarter Ball scored at will despite dealing with no calls on his behalf with 8 points alone in the final quarter. With the intense effort once more from Lamelo Ball he continues to prove how he deserves Rookie of The Year. Ball has a great night he was 7-15 from the field finishing with 16 points, 4 rebounds and assist. While moving the ball setting up his teammates, he has defensive effort recording 2 steals in the matchup as well.
