The last time these teams faced each other was last season on Monday, March 27th, 2023 when the Bulls played away from home at Crypto.com Arena where the Chicago Bulls fell 124 to 112. The Chicago Bulls hoped for a different result this time around but sadly missed out on the chance as a result of their misdoings.
First half was a dominant one for the Bulls
The first half was a very good one for the Bulls, they were very offensively sound and dominated the court. They finished the first quarter 29-23, with Vucevic being the main focus putting up 7 points an 7 rebounds while Forward Paul George and Shooting Forward Kawhi Leonard were doing what they could for the Clippers early on as they put in 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 points and 2 rebounds respectively.
The second quarter then seemed to cement the Bull’s first-half performance as they ended the quarter 28-23 and at the half led by 11 points 57-46. The main man for the Bulls at the end of the second quarter was DeRozan who put in 9 points in the quarter to end with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while for the Clippers it was George who stayed consistent throughout the first half fighting to keep his team in the game putting in 6 more points in the second quarter to end the half with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. DeRozan’s 9 points and team’s overall success was the prelude for a sad ending to the game for the away side.
The bulls disappear in the second half and squander the lead
The Bulls seemed to have forgotten Head Coach Billy Donovan’s locker room talk as they were practically non-existent in the second half as the third quarter was all Clippers ending the quarter 37-28 and the Clippers were now at a two-point deficit, now closer than ever to snatching the lead with the overall score now 85-83. The fourth quarter then was one to forget for the Bulls as the fourth quarter ended 27-17 and the final score of 112-102 with the Bulls incredibly squandering a 11-point first half lead, easily one of the biggest games to forget for the Bulls.
“Star of the Game”
The “Star of the Game” was the Bulls Shooting Forward DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan is a USC Trojan product and was selected ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2009 NBA draft. DeRozan was the best player on the court by far putting up 24 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, but his contributions were in vain as the Bulls fell to the Clippers. DeRozan is hoping to once again provide a impeccable performance that once again provides the desired result for the Bulls and the city of Chicago.
What’s Next?
The Bulls will want to recover mentally right away and get a win as they take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight Monday, March 11th at 8 p.m. EST at home at United Center.
