Cleveland Cavaliers wing, Caris LeVert has been on a tear to start the 2023 season. Though the team is just 4-6, Cleveland has seen very consistent play from their sixth man.
Over the offseason, the Cavaliers signed LeVert to a two-year, $32 million deal and he is proving to be worth every penny. In nine appearances, LeVert is averaging 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists, while managing an impressive 35% three-point percentage.
Over his last three games, Caris LeVert is posting 24 points per game, shooting 38% from three and 49% from the field.
LeVert has provided a valuable bench presence on an otherwise top-heavy Cavaliers team. Caris LeVert leads all bench players in the scoring and ranks ninth among bench players in assists.
Cleveland’s bench is looking to provide valuable depth for their star-studded starting lineup with LeVert leading the way. The Cavaliers’ bench has struggled to start the season, ranking 29th in the NBA in offensive rating for their bench rotation. Their bench defense has been a different story, ranking third in the NBA in defensive rating.
The Cavaliers bench will need to pick up some traction offensively to help their starting unit. LeVert has set the tone, giving Cleveland a true spark off the bench and leading the way for the second unit.
LeVert has outperformed the likes of Max Strus. The Cavaliers acquired Strus in a sign-and-trade over the offseason. Caris enters his third season as a Cavalier and is off to his hottest start by far. Expect LeVert to continue his stellar play and lead Cleveland’s bench as the season goes on.
