Game Recap: Raptors blown out the Magic

The Toronto Raptors got a bounce-back win against the Orlando Magic tonight after getting blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks last game.

The Raptors lost to the Bucks 130-112 on Jan. 17. If Toronto had won this game, it would have been the first time they won three games in a row.

This game against Orlando is Toronto’s first game back after a four-day break while the Magic were looking to snap their three-game losing streak.

The last time both teams faced each other, Orlando won the game 106-97 on Jan. 3.

The Raptors started the game with a bad start when they scored no points while Orlando scored 10 points.

Toronto finally scored a point at the 9:02-minute mark thanks to a three from Scottie Barnes. The first quarter ended with the Magic in the lead, 37-24.

During the 7:57 minute mark in the second quarter, Toronto cut the 13-point lead from Orlando to two thanks to a three-point shot from RJ Barrett.

Despite only scoring 13 points in this quarter, the Magic managed to keep their lead. The first half ends with Orlando leading 50-45.

The Magic shot badly in the second quarter. On two separate occasions, Orlando went five minutes twice without scoring a point.

Orlando’s field goal percentage in the second quarter was 21.1 per cent. They shot the ball 19 times but only made four of those shots.

The Raptors finally got the lead during the third quarter. Davion Mitchell made the layup at the 6:52 minute mark.

Toronto shot the ball well in the third quarter. Their field goal percentage was 75 per cent.

Not only did the Raptors maintain their lead, but they extended it by 15 points. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 85-70.

The Raptors kept their lead for the entire fourth quarter. Toronto won the game 109-93.

Barnes was the player of the night for this game. He finished the night with 17 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Toronto’s record is now 11-32 while Orlando’s record is 23-22. The Magic have now lost four in a row and eight in the Eastern Conference.

The next game for the Raptors is a road game in Atlanta where they will face Trae Young and the Hawks on Jan. 23.
