TBL GAME OF THE WEEK

The Enid Outlaws entered their Week 5 matchup with a record of 8-0. Since beating the Houston PUSH 106-99 in Houston Week 2 Enid had beaten their respective opponents by 74, 11, 73, 20, 81, and 50. And, yes, you are reading all of those differentials correctly. Meanwhile, over the same period of time, Houston had gone undefeated, albeit via more ordinary margins. They came into this game at 7-1, merely a game back of Enid for the top spot in the Central. This past Sunday, the Steve Francis-owned PUSH of Houston, officially announced a new Red River Rivalry with a 98-96 win over the previously invincible Outlaws – in Enid, OK nonetheless. At one point in the first half, Houston held a 26-point lead. By the start of the 4th quarter that lead had been trimmed to five, at 74-69. The crowd at the Stride Bank Center and all the viewers streaming on TBLTV witnessed an intense a 4th quarter. As intense a quarter as has ever been played in the three-year history of the league.  Ultimately, despite the exuberate urgings of the home crowd, the team from Texas walked away with a 98-96 win and a share of first place in the Central. Move over, UT-OU. The Red River Rivalry now pits the Enid Outlaws against the Houston PUSH.
