- Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, Kristaps Porzingis, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, Jarrett Allen, Jamal Murray, Kawhi Leonard, and Zion Williamson, what do they have in common. They all have team’s injury problems in the playoffs. Teams used to strive for the best record for home court advantage in the playoffs. With teams a little over .500 at home this year in the playoffs it has shifted to just keep your players healthy we can win on the road.
- If you’re a basketball fan and you missed any of the New York Knick v Philadelphia 76ers series, I feel for you. It again proves why the NBA Playoffs are the best two months on the sports calendar.
- Speaking of that series, Jalen Brunson has gone from good player to superstar in a short time. By the way, isn’t it refreshing to see a star like him give up the ball in the last seconds of the game to a wide open teammate. In today’s NBA star players in that situation hold the ball until the last seconds and force a bad shot.
- I guess Heat Culture isn’t much when you have injury problems. I don’t know if the Heat would have beaten Boston with Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier but it would have been a lot of fun.
- If Jamal Murray’s injury problems continue Minnesota has a great shot at beating the defending champions.
- I love watching Bobby Portis play. He’s high energy, plays hard and a team player. However, there is no excuse for getting thrown out of a playoff game in the first quarter. The Bucks needed his scoring if they were going to be able to beat Indiana in game five. This especially with Lillard and Giannis injured and out.
- If you read about the press conference the Phoenix Suns’ owner, Matt Ishbia and their GM James Jones had this week you would have been confused. The two believed things would get better next year. Somebody better tell them that Kevin Durant will be 36 next year. Though Durant is still good only LeBron can continue playing well in his late thirties. Bradley Beal will be 31 next year. He hasn’t played over 60 games in a season since the 2018-19 season. This year he averaged 18.2 points per game his lowest average in eight years.
