This is my Jimmy Butler trade wish list. ESPN’s NBA Insider Shams Charnia says in an ESPN plus article here that Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram are top guys that may be moved by the trade deadline. His justification is simply based on their contract situations. He says that the Heat and Butler are open to listening to offers and he listed the Mavs, Rockets and Warriors as preferred teams.
I don’t want Jimmy Butler to be traded, but, if so, this would be MY ASKING PRICE. I truly believe that Tyler Herro should be traded (or Terry Rozier.) He wants to be a celebrity and shoe vendor, not a basketball player. Look at my article on our site here for reasons.
Mavs — Dereck Lively or Daniel Giffords or PJ Washington
Ok, if the Heat are sold on Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo as their future, then the Heat need a rim protector and athletic big men that can rebound. Lively and Gaffords are active big men and played a huge part in Dallas’ playoff run last season. According to “thesmokingcuban.com,” in this article here, Lively is the better fit to start in Dallas. Gaffords looks better coming off the bench, but has a high motor and would be a “culture fit” with the Heat.

PJ Washington is also a “culture fit” with the Heat as he is helping the Mavs as a “Swiss Army knife player.” Read this article here on the “MavsMoneyball” site that shows he is the team’s leading rebounder. I really don’t care for Klay Thompson for Jimmy Butler. This article here in the Sporting News links Thompson in a potential trade, but says that Thompson has been a disappointment so far.
Rockets — Alperen Sengun and/or Fred Van Vleet
This guy is an active big man and rebounds like crazy. But when he is not dominated and swarmed in the paint, as per a comment (read article here) via Ime Udoka. Book it. Fred Van Vleet is a copy of “Kyle Lowry” so he would benefit Bam and Tyler with scoring and assists. In this article here on the Houston fan site has Van Vleet injured with a “right knee contusion” but he is a durable point guard.

Butler, paired with Ime Udoka and Van Vleet would make Houston very competitive in the West. Look at this article here on the Rockets SI page. Houston is itching to be a winner. They want to do well in the NBA Cup but make noise in the playoffs. Jimmy Butler would immediately put them in the conversation.

Warriors — Jonathan Kuminga or Kevon Looney or Kyle Anderson
Kevon Looney and Kyle Anderson would contribute to the power rotation and rebounding. Kuminga would be a scoring threat. The Heat’s defense couldn’t take a step back with trading Jimmy Butler and the players would have to be “culture fits.” Looney is a definite “culture fit” as this article here talks about how Draymond Green loves Looney.
Jonathan Kuminga, according to Danny Green in this article here on SI.com’s Warriors page, says that the Warriors have benched Kuminga on purpose. Kuminga is apparently the future for the Warriors so he along side Adebayo is an appealing combo.
