The Toronto Raptors have lost the last eight games against the New York Knicks including four losses this season.
The score for this game was 121-115. Toronto put out a better effort than the Jan. 8 game where New York beat the Raptors 112-98.
The scores for the other two games where both teams faced each other were 139-125 on Dec. 23, 2024, and 113-108 on Dec. 9, 2024.
Former Raptor OG Anunoby did not play this game due to a mild foot strain injury. RJ Barrett didn’t play as well due to a concussion.
The game started with a back-and-forth battle with Toronto getting the edge. The first quarter ends with a 34-30 Raptors lead.
The second quarter is a different story. Not only did the Knicks get the lead, they dominated the quarter making the score 68-51.
At the beginning of the third quarter, New York would continue their dominance by leading by 20 points.
But the Raptors slowly cut the lead to 12. Toronto could not make the game closer as New York had a 98-86 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Toronto started better in the fourth quarter than in the third quarter. They cut the lead to four points with 5:55 left in the game.
The Raptors were close to getting the lead back by making it a one-point game with 3:17 minutes left.
Unfortunately, the hopes of Toronto getting their lead back were quickly gone as the Knicks extended the game to six points with 35 seconds left.
Toronto tried to make it a close game but they missed four shots in a row until Ariel Hukporti grabbed the rebound to secure the win for New York.
The next game for the Raptors is against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. That game takes place on Feb.5.
