After losing five straight since acquiring James Harden (six overall) the Los Angeles Clippers according to head coach Ty Lue has been starting to “figure” it out. They are 6-3 in their last nine games and will get a chance to stack up some wins as five of their next six are at home. Coming off of a thrilling 113-112 victory over the Warriors on a Paul George 3-pt game winner after falling to them (120-114) just two nights prior has put them just one game under .500

“This was a gutsy win for us,” Clippers coach Ty Lue said. “We needed to win like this just to keep fighting, keep scraping, keep competing and winning a big game like this.”

LA Clippers: Win one, lose one

They alternated wins over the past six, and now get a chance to get above the mediocre hump. In comes the reigning defending champs on Wednesday night. This is a team that LA has yet to beat this season (0-2). That second time around was without three of their top players (Jokic, Murray, Gordon) and was played at Crypto.com arena. So that loss was even more egregious.

Now that they have two days off according to coach Ty Lue, they got a chance to rest their bodies and mentally get a break. Lue said needed to come back and “clean up some things we have to get better at on both sides of the basketball”

They’ll travel to Utah on Friday. Then they get Portland whom they trounced opening night at home. Sacramento Kings are next; they’ve already beaten even though they were coming off of an emotional victory over their cross-town rivals from the bay. Then a Warriors team that they have split the season series with thus far. Finally, a Knicks team that they swept last season (2-0).

LA Clippers: A look ahead

With their two superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George playing in every game so far this season has been a huge plus for this team psychologically after one or both of them have been known to sit out games during the regular season. They currently sit ninth in the West and with a win against Denver on Wednesday night, LA will have a chance to get back to .500 for the first time a month ago, today when they were 3-3. We’ll get to see if this team has in fact turned the corner and is heading in the right direction.
