Everyone In The Media Is So Happy LeBron and The Lakers Are Out Except Me.

The Lakers got their asses kicked by the Phoenix Suns. It was frustrating for Laker fans everywhere and it has taken me a few days to write about this Laker meltdown. I really think they are going to have to rebuild around LeBron, again! In fact, they should really consider trading Davis for an entire new guard lineup. It was obvious to even the causal fan that Laker guards are the reason the Lakers lost in the first round. It was not because injury prone Anthony Davis , sadly, broke down again. Anthony Davis who was the best player on the worst team in the NBA New Orleans Pelicans. Once LeBron retires or leaves, the Lakers are going to turn into the West Coast Pelicans. The Lakers should trade him now for a new fresh set of guards.

Spotlight on the Laker’s guards this year

It hurts thinking about that the Lakers had a chance to sign Jason Tatum and passed on him thinking Kyle Kuzma was going to be Scottie Pippen. Kyle has played terrible all season, his shot has gotten worse, his decision making is questionable. Is he on dope? Drug test him. I don’t think sober people get all those tattoos and LeBron, Kobe and Dennis Rodmen get passes because they were just head and shoulders above everyone else athletically. Kobe and LeBron are hard workers on and off the court. In his prime Dennis Rodman was a better athlete than both Kobe or LeBron. No one out worked Dennis in the game or played harder. It is a shame to think how good Dennis Rodman could have been if he wasn’t getting trashed every night.

That party lifestyle is cool for rock stars but not for NBA players. Kyle is not an elite athlete like Dennis, LeBron or Kobe who could be hungover on the court and still win. Maybe, that is not fair to say that the majority of players with sleeve tattoos are below average intelligence. Regardless Kyle ain’t getting it done, stoned or sober, tattoos or no tats, Kuz sucked this year. When he was expected to step up to take pressure off Davis and LeBron and he failed to do so. So, why keep this guy?

1 Guard Should Stay

The only guard that the Lakers need to keep was Dennis Schroder and even he got shut down against the Suns, but Dennis still played more consistently that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Alex Caruso, golly he was bad this year. The biggest sign the Lakers need to trade Davis for an entire set of guards was that when Davis got hurt against the Suns, the Lakers still outrebounded the Suns. Laker big men besides Davis are fairly good defensively, and defense wins championships, not centers shooting three pointers.

The Laker guards could not play defense. But most importantly they cannot hit wide open jump shots. LeBron would feed them a perfect pass and they would brick almost every time. If you cannot play defense and you cannot shoot, you should not be out on the court. The Lakers had no choice with these guards this year. But if they keep this same roster next year, LeBron will be leaving and the Lakers will be garbage with Anthony Davis and Alex Caruso.

The West Coast Pelicans.
