Star of the Game
Tonight was a star performance from lebron James. Putting up astounding 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assist triple double with 57.9% from the field and 60% from the 3-point line. Also adding a 77.8% from the line to his stat line. And again Lebron James comes clutch in the 4th quarter scoring half his teams points with 17.
Lebron James has been spectacular his past five games. Averaging 34.4 points a game while shooting 58% from the field. Overall this season he’s playing great. Playing his 19th season he’s averaging 27.4 points ( 4th in the league), 6.8 rebounds, 6.5 assist and 1.7 steals per game. In my opinion, he’s the best 19th year player to ever play and still the best player in the league right now.
Biggest Concern
Russell Westbrook. Don’t get me wrong, he played a great shooting game tonight and got a triple double. Probably the best game I him play all year, but again it’s his turnovers. 7 turnovers simply don’t help your team win games. I know the Lakers are very short handed with injuries and covid health protocols but this has to stop or lower the rate of them.
The Lakers are 3rd in the league in turnovers and Russell averages 4.6 which is 2nd in league. I think the turnovers are one of the reasons why the Lakers are 7th in west. I don’t know if the Lakers need to trade Russell Westbrook but if they do, removing Russells’ 4.6 turnovers per game would make the Lakers last in turnovers in the league.
Number of the Night
100%. That was Russell Westbrooks’ percentage from the 3 point line tonight. He went 2-2 tonight, making it his 2nd time going 100% from 3 this season. Last time he went 100% from 3 he shot 2-2. So far this season Russ has been averaging 30% from the arc, jacking up 3.7 per game. Hopefully his great shooting performance tonight continues for the rest of the season!
Next Game
Los Angeles Lakers will look to continue to move up in the standings with a game in Memphis on December 29th at 5 PM PST.
