Star of the Game

After going being down by 17 points at halftime, Minnesota came back to win after going on a 16-4 run in the final five minutes of the game. The Wolves played a pretty balanced game, with eight of their ten players scoring in double figures. The biggest difference maker had to be Malik Beasley. Though he only scored 12 points, he shot 4/9 from deep. Having this kind of consistency is something the Timberwolves may come to rely on in the post season and beyond.

Biggest Concern

As most of the squad played well, the biggest concern remains injuries. Both Patrick Beverley and Jarred Vanderbilt sat out this game, which could have been a major defensive liability for the Wolves. Though they managed to close the game well, hopefully these guys get plenty of rest before entering the post season.

Number of the Night

0. Though D’Angelo Russell had a cold shooting night (going 3/13 from the field) he managed to score 14 points by hitting all of his free throws. He also made up for his shooting by pulling in six boards and dishing out nine assists. As his game continues to develop, Russell may become a more consistent triple-double threat. The only thing he should watch out for is his turnovers, tonight he had five.

Next Match

The Timberwolves will take on the Spurs Monday at 6:30 CST.
