- It’s never easy for the Boston Celtics. They failed to play good defense in the first half allowing the Cavaliers to get to the rim. Their ball pressure was non-existent. In the second half Donovan Mitchell took over. Because of this the Cavs now know they can win this series. Something just isn’t right with Boston, it has been this way all year. They Celtics have the most talent but they sure don’t play like it because when things get tough they don’t respond well.
- Game one of the Indiana Pacers New York Knicks series was such a good game that you wanted to see it play out to its conclusion. That means no call on the Myles Turner screen although the screen was borderline illegal. It was like watching a great movie with a bad ending.
- You have to admire the Knicks for their gutty performances, playing hard, good defense and their embracing the next man up philosophy. You do have to wonder if all these injuries are because of the extended minutes they have been playing.
- Speaking of good defense, it’s something the Indiana Pacers don’t play. Early in the year we wondered if good offense could carry a team in the playoffs. So far we may be getting an answer. It doesn’t help the Pacers that they can’t execute on offense or defense at the end of games but this may be due to the Knicks play.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves beating Denver twice in Denver was a surprise. What was more surprising was Jamal Murray‘s behavior and to be honest, lack of class. I know he’s frustrated with his calf problem and his team’s play but you just don’t act that way.
- It’s fun to watch Minnesota play. Anthony Edwards is talented and has a great personality. They play really good defense are well coached and seem to be together as a team.
- The Dallas Mavericks may have found something. They play good defense and it seems like Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic complement each other and like playing together. For Kyrie it’s nice to see he may have finally found a home.
