The Heat abducted the Lakers

The Heat have abducted the Lakers. The Lakers are lost and missing. They have been missing since Sunday, December 1 after they beat the Utah Jazz. They went to Minnesota and were blown out 109-80. Then, on Wednesday, they came to Miami. The Heat set a record for total assists in a game and three pointers in a game. It was as if, the Lakers walked down a dark corridor in the ports on Biscayne Bay and never returned.

The Heat were “entertaining”

For the older fans, the Heat team was like the old guy in the 1976 movie, “Network.” They were “MAD AS HELL, AND THEY WEREN’T GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!” The team lost 108-89 against Boston on Monday. Twitterverse was announcing “the end of the Celtics-Heat rivalry,” as Boston beat Miami without breaking a sweat. The Heat were .500 at home and the Lakers had 12 wins. That alone spelled trouble for Miami to win. In my article here, the Heat have been trying to shoot more threes and “be entertaining.” as NBA trends go.

Heat radio host Jason Jackson calls the three points area, “Land of Milk and Honey.” The Heat made 24 three pointers. They shot 70% in the second quarter, 64% in the third quarter and 52% in the fourth quarter. Ira Winderman also saw that the Heat performed with purpose in his article here. Tyler Herro set the pace, Bam Adebayo added and Jimmy Butler energized.

LeBron and JJ Reddick called the effort, “embarrassing.” Look at this article here on CBS SPORTS.com. The Heat needed the Lakers on Wednesday. JJ Reddick sounds like a coach of a team that is discouraged and not interested in playing. He also notices, like in this article here from FadeawayWorld.net that he can’t coach, pass, catch that pass and make the shot.

A win is a win all the same. The worst case for the Heat would’ve been to equal the poor Lakers effort from the start. Then the Lakers feel confident and end up winning the game. The Heat have games against Phoenix and Cleveland in the next three days. So, Tyler Herro needs to be able to average 20 points per game and shoot 50% from three. Until then, the win against the Lakers is just fun but doesn’t portend anything. They are locked in a Public Storage unit on 17th avenue until further notice.
