Cam Thomas made his return to the Nets, when they faced off against the Hornets. Which led the Nets into another loss, 128-129. Thomas was out for 9 consecutive games after sustaining an ankle injury.
In Thomas’s return, he had another MVP-like performance. Having 26 pts, 2 rb and 1 ast in only 25 minutes of play. He led the team in scoring but the other Nets still showed big promise in their very close loss.
The Other Helping Hands
The Nets had 5 players in double digits, with three of them scoring more than 20; and two players with 9. Nic Claxton had his best performance of the season with a 20 pts, 14 rb and 2 ast night. He showed his versatility on the court on both ends, which is desperately needed for the Nets success.
Mikal Bridges was the 3rd Net that had 20+ points. He non-stop shows us that he will be the first or second option on the court every night. And with his superman ability to not miss any games; he could be the reason the Nets have a winning season. He keeps showing his improvement/ dedication every year. He constantly has leap after leap after coming to the Nets from the Suns.
The Nets Down-Side
Spencer Diniwiddie, unfortunately had a low performing game with only 9 pts, with 4 rbs and 8 ast. He was showing high hope coming off two great games, averaging 23.5 pts; but didn’t show up. This is unlike him to do this and will be known as just one of his off nights. Sadly, he was a key factor why the Nets didn’t come out with the victory.
After this loss the Nets came back to a neutral season being 9-9. This means for the Nets they still have a chance to choose their path; good or bad. They constantly show how lethal they are from behind the arc; but also show their inconsistency on defense and shooting.
The Nets have shown some impressive feats with leading the league in rebounds per game with 47.7 and hold second place for three point percentage with 38.9. They keep showing great hope, but will it become a promise or just a dream?
