The Los Angeles Clippers (40-19) took care of business last night and put down the Minnesota Timberwolves (15-43) 124-105 at Staples Center. The T-Wolves made the first shot of the game and got out ahead by 3. That was the biggest lead they ever attained, as the rest of the game was all Clippers. The Clips got Kawhi Leonard back last night, but he did not have to contribute all that much for them to get this easy win. The Wolves are the worst team in the league and they looked like it. The Clippers built a lead as high as 38, were able to rest all of their starters in the fourth quarter, and coast to victory.
STAR OF THE GAME
Paul George and his 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He was 9 out of 17 from the field overall, including 4 out of 9 from 3. PG13 got his 30 point scoring streak snapped last night, but that was because he did not play a minute in the 4th quarter. Otherwise, he would have gotten it easily. He very likely would’ve scored 40+. It would have been nice to see him keep that streak going, but I think Paul will take the rest and the W over padding his stats.
BIGGEST CONCERN
None. It’s hard to complain about anything when you have a blowout win like this.
SURPRISE CONTRIBUTION
Luke Kennard and his 13 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist off the bench. Luke’s minutes have been kind of spotty lately, but he got a chance to get some run last night with the starters able to get some rest. He made 3 out of 6 3 pointers and 5 out of 9 shots overall. He may have been a -8 in the +/- category, but that is because most of his 21 minutes came when the Wolves had their largest scoring output in the 4th quarter. Luke looks like he still has his scoring touch, and should be ready when he’s called upon next.
