Our panel recaps Episode 2 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Jose Salviati and Evan Moore both who lived through the rise of the Lakers dynasty in the 1980’s. Akeem Evans and Derek Lavell did not, but they are both excited to learn more about this team. Based on Jeff Pearlman’s book, Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers, and executive produced by Adam McKay the show takes a look at a team that defined its era, both on and off the court. The series tells the Lakers story from the perspective of Dr. Jerry Buss. Jerry West, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Norm Nixon and more Lakers legends.
Winning Time Episode 2 – Is That All There Is?
After giving Coach West carte blanche with the Lakers roster, Buss attempts to charm fellow franchise owner of the Celtics, Red Auerbach. Meanwhile, Earvin’s efforts to impress the women in his life fall flat, and Claire’s mandate to get creative brings conflict with Buss’ daughter, Jeanie.
