My favorite type of Wizards game to watch is when the team wins on a last second shot. My second favorite type of Wizards game to watch is when they are crushing their opponents so badly, I can chill a little bit. By the fourth quarter of the game, I wasn’t really paying attention to the tv. The game had essentially been been decided. After a competitive first quarter where the Wizards had a 35-31 lead, they would go on to outscore the Grizzlies by 9 points in the second quarter and 10 points third quarter. Once the Grizzlies trailed by 32 points, it was game over.

Washington’s defense held Memphis to 35.4 percent shooting from the field and 19.4 percent from the three point line for the game. When you can lock down your opponent like that, you give yourself a great chance to win the game. Washington’s offense was also clicking at a high level. After two terrible games from beyond the arc, the Wizards would go on to shoot 40% from three against the Grizzlies. As a team, the Wizards also dished out 34 assists to Memphis’ 19 assists.

With a 115-87 win over Memphis, Washington will improve to 6-3 on the season and 4-1 at home.

Star of the Game

Montrezl Harrell continues to play excellent basketball. In 24 minutes, Harrell scored 18 points on 9 for 11 shooting, and grabbed 8 rebounds. On the season, Harrell is averaging 18 points per game on 60.5 percent shooting from the field. The type of effort and consistency that Harrell plays with every single game has made him a fan favorite in DC.

Biggest Concern

No concerns from the game. Although I would like to see the free throw shooting be better. The Wizards shot 7 for 13 from the free throw line. But I’m just nitpicking at this point. When a team jumps out to a 32 point lead, I can’t really complain. Especially when it’s my team that jumps out to a 32 point lead.

Surprise Contribution

There is no one in particular I can think off, because everyone stepped up in this win. Every player in the starting lineup scored in double figures. Montrezl Harrell and Raul Neto scored 18 and 15 points respectively off the bench. Even guys who didn’t scored in double figures, they played great defense.
