Washington Wizards
The Wizards are going through a little bit of a rough patch right now. The team has lost 2 straight games, and have gone 3-7 over their previous 10 games. Unfortunately, the Wizards have been heavily affected by Covid-19. Bradley Beal has been in the league’s health and safety protocols since December 23. Recently, Montrez Harrell has also entered the league’s health and safety protocols, making the 7th Wizard to do so. There are also 5 other Wizards currently in health and safety protocols.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers have a 20-14 record, and currently hold the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland lost their most recent game against the Pelicans by the score of 108-104. However, the team has gone 7-3 over their previous 10 games. Like Washington, Cleveland is also battling Covid-19. Darius Garland is the most recent Cavalier to enter the league’s health and safety protocol. There are also five other Cavaliers currently in health and safety protocol.
The Cavaliers will be without Ricky Rubio entering Thursday’s game. Rubio suffered a torn ACL in Cleveland’s Tuesday night game against New Orleans, and will be out for the rest of the season.
Dimers Deliberation
Dimers.com has Washington winning by 4 points, but don’t think the game will be close. With both squads missing a number of key players, everything is going to be a little out of whack. Different lineups will be experimented with. New strategies will have to be implemented. These are things a team does during preseason and training camp. But to do that during the middle of the season can be challenging. As a result, things can go either really well or really bad for a team. Which is why I don’t think this game will be close. It’s going to come down to which team can adjust to their current situation.
There is a chance that both teams adjust to their situations well, and the game ends up being close. But I’m going to go with my initial prediction.
