The recap of the Heat – Celtics was similar to a barfight that ends badly. The Celtics were the ones standing over the Heat. The Heat was on the floor, bloody and beaten, trying to get to the bathroom. The Celtics new additions, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, played fantastic. They shot “lights out” from three point range, and on, and on. The Heat scored more in this game than they had recently but just as, in this article here from the Sun-Sentinel, “put in their place.”

Recap #3 – Jimmy Butler spoke after the game.

In this article here from the Sun Sentinel, Butler addressed the recent five game losing streak. He said that the losses weren’t on Coach Spo. The team play has been bad all around, but he voiced a “reach the bottom-type outlook” that the only way is up after such a bad loss. As I put in my Kyle Lowry recap article here, Butler praised Lowry but also said both men aren’t defined by basketball. I know that the team will be ready on Sunday at 3 versus the Knicks. The Knicks are 10-2 since the OG Anunoby trade.

Recap #2 – Porzingis outplayed Adebayo.

Check out this article here from Celticsblog.com on their 10 takeaways from the game. Porzingis was a major contributor to the team’s performance. Porzingis has been efficient on offense, can spot shooters on the double team and is a shot blocking presence. In this article here on Masslive.com, he may be the answer to beating the Heat in the playoffs. Conversely, Porzingis has been often plagued with lower body injuries and sprained his ankle during the game. It is not known if he’ll miss anytime but whenever that has happened before, he has missed games.

Bam had 19 points and 5 rebounds in the game. He has outplayed Porzingis previously. The Celtics dominated and pounded the Heat on the boards, 47-31. It is out of character for Bam not to have double digit rebounds, so I’d be curious to see if this happens again.

Recap #1 – The Lowry trade was BIG.

Check out this article here on Clutchpoints.com. Lowry was a “voice in the locker room” and a presence the team depended on through good and bad moments. There is no doubt that the team is affected by the loss of Lowry. Terry Rozier doesn’t have to “be Lowry” but just be who he is, in terms of team chemistry. Kevin Love will have to step into the role Lowry left. Love has been a good presence in the Heat locker room but since he got there last season, was following Lowry’s lead. The team will recover.
