- When: Wednesday, January 13th at 5pm Pacific

- Fact: The Thunder have one NBA Championship from 1979 when they were the Seattle Supersonics

The Oklahoma City Thunder were a surprise last season. This season, they are again, but at 5-5 and with no real stars they are not likely to make the playoffs. This will be the first match-up between the two Western Conference rivals this season and first since the Thunder traded Dennis Schroder to the Lakers for Danny Green and Jaden McDaniels. I repeat, the Lakers acquired Dennis Schroder, top 6th man of the year last season and averaging 14.3ppg this season, for Danny Green and Jaden McDaniels. The Lakers are off to a 6-0 record on the road. Beating the Thunder tonight would give the storied franchise the best road start in their history.
Does that count? I mean, it counts in the sense that the Lakers have won games not played at Staples, sure. But, the lack of packed crowds kinda takes the bite out a road win, doesn’t it? Regardless, the Lakers are playing at a high level and the Thunder don’t seem to have enough players to put up much of a resistance. While there will no doubt be an asterisk attached, expect the Lakers to up their road record in the 2020-21 season to 7-0 even with Anthony Davis questionable.
